The curtain for the illustrious and long-awaited Russia World Cup 2018 will be raised in an mesmerizing and eye catching opening ceremony  at Luzhniki stadium, Russia. With millions of people around the world from more than 200 countries watching, the ceremony event will begin on 6:30 pm (IST) before 30 minutes of kick off fixture  between host Russia and Saudi Arabia.

These ceremonies  are opportunities for the host country to show off their culture and traditions in the form of dancers and performers, and also feature big-name headline acts. The month-long mega tournament will conclude with one team earning the right to call themselves the best in football.

#3 Presence of World Cup Legend Ronaldo Nazario

Ronaldo Nazario, an iconic figure in the world of soccer and a former champion with Brazil in the 2002 world cup edition is going to feature in the opening ceremony and is expected to be ambassador representing the players that have excelled in the game.

“Of course it is also an emotional one for the hosts,” he told FIFA’s official website. “After so much hard work, suddenly the whole world is gathered in your backyard to celebrate their love for football. I felt that in Brazil four years ago and I am now happy to share this excitement with the Russians as well.”

It would be a memorable presence and the football world would be glad to see Brazil’s goal scoring master back on the stage of World Cup.

#2 All eyes set on Robbie Williams

The British award winning pop singer and former ‘Take That’ band star Robbie Williams will perform during the opening ceremony alongside Russian singer Aida Garifullina at Moscow’s Lukhniki Stadium. England will have representation in the opening ceremony in the form their  90s pop icon.

Williams was ecstatic on being named as the lead for the ceremony and said,

I’m so happy and excited to be going back to Russia for such a unique performance,” says Williams, who’s probably best-known for his songs around the turn of the millennium such as Angels and Rock DJ. “I’ve done a lot in my career, and opening the FIFA World Cup to 80,000 football fans in the stadium and many millions all over the world is a boyhood dream.”

The Pop singer’s performance is surely going to be in the centre stage after series of events occured on social media.

#1 World Cup opening ceremony- A pure musical treat

Event of opening ceremony will predominantly focus on musical arts and the British star pop singer Robbie Williams stealing the headline of the show. Around 500 dancers, gymnasts and trampolinists will also be performing in an opening extravaganza that will pay homage to all things Russian. The official song of the Russia World Cup 2018 will be customarily performed ahead of the kick off fixture.

FIFA has said that the 2018 World Cup opening ceremony will have a different format than previous years. This year there will be a strong focus on musical acts. The management of FIFA have taken decision to restrict the duration of the opening ceremony to 30 minutes due to certain reasons.

In addition to the ceremony taking place at the Luzhniki Stadium, there will be another concert occurring at the Red Square in Moscow where stars such as Placido Dominguez and Juan Diego Flores will perform.

World Cup opening ceremony is known for its grandeur and beauty. The ceremony is expected to be attended by lots of celebrities along with their celebrity performances. The opening ceremony will be the curtain raiser for the biggest sports festival of the planet and the next 32  days are going to be heaven like for the football fans around the world.
