Arsenal is looking to complete transfer once aligned by Wenger. Arteta is looking to swap to sign the player.
Mikel Arteta’s rejuvenation policy includes a chart sheet for the future of Alexandre Lacazette. The latest updates of AS reveals the possibility of a swap deal of two Frenchmen. Atletico Madrid’s left-winger Thomas Lemar joined Simeone’s side just before the 2018 Russian World cup. He won the elite golden cup with France in Russia. The World cup victory added more weightage in his profile in Madrid.
Lemar was the favorite of the great Arsene Wenger and Gunners tried to bring the player to North London in the past. He refused all the offers put forward by Arsenal. After a year of Wenger offer, he switched to Atletico from French side Monaco.
24 year old was one of the best choices in Wanda Metropolitano under his Argentine boss. The move to Madrid was a costly switch in the transfer market worth €70 million as per Transfermarkt. He was alright in the wings of Atleti in the early campaign in Spain. Later he lost the consistency and put in bench along with the challenges for the position.
The Arsenal offer didn’t impress the Frenchmen and he chooses Spain over England. Also Simeone’s squad was doing great in European stages with a couple of finals. The transfer market of 2020 includes Thomas Lemar. The player’s contract with A la Colconeros ends next summer and a contract extension is not yet happened in Madrid.
In North London, Mikel Arteta would like to add some striking options in his frontline this summer. Due to the possible departure of Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang and the uncertainty in the future of Alexandre Lacazette add more burden to Arteta to find the replacements for them.
The Spanish manager is planning a swap deal with Atletico on Lacazette as Simeone is already interested in the Frenchmen. The swap is composed for another Frenchmen Thomas Lemar and the possibility of this deal is high above other proposals of Gunners. Also the past memories of the failed operation tempt him to win the deal for the club.
The Madrid Camp
The season stat of Thomas Lemar didn’t work well in Spain. He got only 24 games this season lacking a single goal. The Frenchmen are looking for a move and Atletico Madrid camp seems to lack interest in the player to continue in the capital city.
Also Diego Simeone’s love for Lacazette forces him to sell Lemar in exchange. The Argentine has got trust in the talent of the Frenchmen and hopes he can solve the vulnerabilities of the attacking front. Alvaro Morata is leading the line in Simeone’s camp with Diego Costa. But Atleti needs more working legs to sharpen the threat to other contenders of the game.
Meanwhile, the financial outlook of Arsenal will be an issue for a direct deal of Lemar. If a swap deal can bring ‘Wenger’s wish’ to Emirates stadium then Arsenal will get some promising options in the frontline. Gunners are not facing any other challenge for the player. If the player chooses North London, Arteta will go for it without a second thought. The upcoming season will be a challenge for Gunners because of the exits of their in-form strikers. Adding the equivalents to those departures in the formation seems to be a clinical task for Arteta. And if the Lemar thing deal happens, half of the concern will get solved.
