Who could United sign if the deal collapse for Portugal Ace this January?

These are the alternatives Red Devils could turn to, should they miss out on Bruno Fernandes.

The January transfer window is filled with the transfer saga of Bruno Fernandes. Over the past week, transfer speculations linking Bruno Fernandes with United is taking several twists and turns daily. Ole Gunner Solskjaer is desperate to deal with a deal for Portugal ace.

But what tomorrow unfolds is very unpredictable. Similarly, nobody knows whether the deal will be materialised or not.

United are currently willing to pay £50m initially and £15 m in the add ons. The asking price for Fernandez suddenly hiked to £68m and Primeira Liga’s outfit are obstinate to move an inch over the fee.

United who are unwilling to fulfill the financial demands are constantly refusing to pay the asking price. Also, other reports claim that United rival Manchester City are planning to swoop in for the Portugal midfielder. The signing would be an awesome turning of events.

But what if the move failed and the deal doesn’t happen, who could Ed Woodward and the team turn to?

There are following emergency alternatives who can make their way to Old Trafford.

Isco (Real Madrid)

Recently surrounded by transfer speculations to Premier League side Chelsea. Real are willing to part ways with the playmaker to free some fund for wanted players

The Spaniard has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane making just 11 appearances this term. He has made 195 appearances since he joined the La Liga giants in 2013. The 27-year-old wants more playtime and thus may exit the club.

Solskjaer should chase the super talented Spaniard if Fernandes isn’t signed.

Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen)

Havertz is a star already. The 20-year-old is regarded as the future of German football and it is only a matter of time before he moves from Bayer Leverkusen to a bigger club.

Havertz won seven international caps and was also nominated for Bundesliga Team of the Year last term he scored 17 league goals.

To bring him in, Solskjaer will be asked to spend £100m approximately along with turning away the interest from League leaders Liverpool.

Marcos Llorente (Atletico Madrid)

United are keen to propose a loan deal for Llorente, should their long-running pursuit fail.

He has only played three La Liga matches since he moved from Real Madrid for £35m. However, he apparently failed to prove himself at the Wanda Metropolitano, a loan move for him would be a risk for United.

Another player from Diego Simeone squad is Saul Niguez. The 25-year-old can play on the wing or in the No.10 role.

The player has impressed with his performance for the last few years and if Fernandes deal falls through he could be an option again.

Jack Grealish (Aston Villa)

The 24-year-old has become the club’s priced asset on their return to the Premier League this season. He netted seven goals and added five assists in 21 appearances.

Unsurprisingly, his red-hot form has attracted interest from various clubs. Red Devils who are most strongly linked with receiving the services of the playmaker.

The Villans will not permit their beloved captain to leave in the middle of the season. But the deal can be made easier if United submit a sizeable bid for him
