Chelsea ace Alvaro Morata is satisfied by the Blues’ summer business.
The Blues signed Jorgiho from Napoli along with Maurizio Sarri, for a combined fee of £57.4million. The Italian midfielder was a wanted prospect in the transfer market with plenty of clubs interested. He even agreed to join Manchester City, only for Chelsea to steal Jorginho in the 11th hour.
Chelsea’s record signing Alvaro Morata has lauded the club’s efforts to land one of the best midfielders of the game. Jorginho was the heartbeat of Napoli under Sarri and has been phenomenal since moving to the Bridge. The 26-year old’s performances in the preseason have been hailed by Morata, who feels his club achieved a massive coup.
Morata praises Chelsea for Jorginho signing
The Spaniard feels his club have signed a key player in the form of Jorginho. Hailing Chelsea’s summer business Morata said the Italian midfielder could become a key player this season. Speaking to The Mirror he said,”We are lucky, we’ve made a very good signing, because he’s a fantastic player, a fantastic guy and because Manchester City wanted him! It would have been very bad for us if City has taken him.”

Furthermore, Morata feels the pairing of Cesc Fabregas and Jorginho would be crucial if they are to win titles. He added,”Jorginho and Cesc Fabregas with the ball are two of the best midfielders around. There are not too many midfielders with this level with the ball – for the strikers it is fantastic.”
Chelsea has made just one signing this summer, however, Sarri insists the Blues still need one more midfielder. Elsewhere, they are fighting to keep hold of Willian, Eden Hazard, and N’golo Kante with World Cup Golden Glove winner Thibaut Courtois heavily linked to Real Madrid.
Chelsea is slowly but steadily adapting to the Sarri-Ball technique. Jorginho having already played under Sarri will be the key man for the Blues in midfield. And just as Morata highlighted the pairing of Jorginho, Kante and Fabregas may just be the secret to Premier League glory.
