Rajasthan Royals pacer Jaydev Unadkat was all fired up after getting rid of Mumbai Indians hard hitting batsman Kieron Pollard in the ongoing IPL 2019 match between the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. It was a remarkable effort from the Royals bowlers to restrict the three time IPL winners to just 161/5 in their 20 overs after electing to bowl first on a rather sluggish wicket.
The home side were let down by some really poor catching with Joffra Archer dropping as many as three catches including one of Quinton de Kock and a couple of Hardik Pandya. de Kock made the most out of that dropped chance to notch up his third fifty of the season before being dismissed after scoring 65 off just 47 balls. It was however Pandya’s dropped catch that hurt them the most as the Mumbai Indians all rounder went on to score 23 runs off 15 balls thus providing the final flourish to the Mumbai Indians innings.
Pandya was dropped for the first time by Joffra Archer on the third ball of the 17th over off the bowling of Jaydev Unadkat when he had just come into the crease. Pollard added insult to injury slogging the left armer over deep mid wicket for a maximum on the very next delivery. Unadkat however came back strongly cleaning him up on his very next delivery. It was the slower delivery from the left armer bowled into the pitch which brought about the dismissal of the hard hitting West Indian.
Pollard failed to read the off cutter from the left armer and was into his shot too early as he swung his bat across the line. He ended up missing it completely and the ball sneaked in through the big gap in between his bat and pad to take out his stumps. Unadkat was visibly pumped up after the dismissal and was even seen giving a fiery sendoff to Pollard as he walked back towards the pavilion after scoring just 10 off 7 deliveries.
