The cricket fraternity witnessed the best of Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw in the ongoing season of the IPL. This has to be the best innings of his IPL career.
It was a memorable knock to remember as his innings was laced with 6 fours in the first over off Shivam Mavi’s bowling. There was no stopping Prithvi Shaw since then.
The youngster went on to hit the half-century off just 18 balls. Shaw went on to score 82 off 41 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 200.
Shaw was the pick of the batsmen for Delhi Capitals during the run-chase. He was en route to scoring a brilliant century but was dismissed by Pat Cummins in the 16th over.
Prithvi Shaw was named the man of the match for his scintillating knock. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders batted first and posted a modest total of 154 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Andre Russell chipped in with 43 off just 27 balls. His innings included 2 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 166.67. Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel took 2 wickets apiece for Delhi Capitals. DC chased down the target in 16.3 overs and won the game by 7 wickets.
Dhawan and Karthik put on a show
Shikhar Dhawan, the orange cap holder played patient innings. Dhawan and Shaw added a 132-run match-winning stand for the opening wicket. During the third ball of the 12th over a drama unfolded between Dhawan and KKR wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik.
Varun Chakravarthy bowled a wide ball to Dhawan. Meanwhile, Karthik dislodged the bails and made a lout stumping appeal. However, Dhawan’s foot never left the ground. At that time, the Karthik and Dhawan were involved in a byplay. The video is doing the rounds on social media.
