Sydney Thunders batted first and made a total of 168/6 in twenty overs with the help of Shane Watson’s brilliant half-century. The Aussie all-rounder quickly scored 68 off 40 balls laced with 4 boundaries and 6 sixes. He was well supported by Jason Sangha who scored 30 off 27 balls.
Stanlake and Rashid Khan picked up a couple of wickets each for the Adelaide Strikers. In reply, Adelaide Strikers’ batting line-up suffered collapse getting all-out for 97 runs in 17.4 overs. Colin Ingram was the lone fighter as he scored 30-ball 48. Strikers were off to a poor start with openers Matthew Short and Jake Weatherald being sent back to the hut inside three overs.
