Mumbai Indians placed a total of 159 in the first innings of the IPL 2021 opener. RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first. Their decision of bowling paid off as they stopped Mightly MI at a total of 159 after a good start.
In the first innings, Royal Challengers Banglore dropped alot of catches which could have caused them but that wasn’t the case. Harshal Patel was the star of the match as he picked crucial wickets in between and at the end of the match as well.
RCB and Virat Kohli had other hick-ups as well, they gave few free hits and one was for a number of players in the circle and outside. Such mistakes are not expected from Virat Kohli. Virat personally had bad innings but can quickly change it with his bat.
In the 2nd innings, RCB started well with Kohli and Sundar opening. But lost two quick wickets of Sundar and Patidar. With Maxwell and Kohli on crease and ABD and Dan Christian still to come we have got a thriller of a match.
Watch the Incident
At 146/5 at the start of the 18th over, Mumbai had slowed down considerably and was looking to unleash. And so, when Kyle Jamieson landed one in the slot, Krunal Pandya’s eyes lit up.
The shot lacked power and Virat was closing down the catch but shockingly he dropped. What was more shocking and worrying was the scar it made as it hit Virat Kohli’s eye. The RCB captain was lucky that it hit under the eye. Virat quickly went near the touchline but returned back as it wasn’t serious.
