Fans from all across the world questioned the credibility of Team India after their performance against New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship Final. Virat Kohli & Co came a long way but lost to Kiwis in the final in Southampton.
It was indeed a heartbreaking victory for India. However, whatever has happened has happened. Indians are currently involved in the Test series against England. They made a sensational comeback in the Test series. The first two Tests have come to a close.
Team India looked dominant in both the Tests. They were a bit unfortunate to have not got a result in the first Test. For sure, India headed into Day 5 as the favourites to seal the Test opener.
Unfortunately, the rain played spoilsport on the final day. Thus, the Trent Bridge Test in Nottingham ended in a draw. However, the cricket fraternity witnessed a riveting action at the Home of Cricket.
Despite losing the toss, India posted 364 in the first innings. England responded with 391 but India were on the front foot by posting 298/8 (declare) in the second innings. The visitors set up a target of 272 for the hosts.
Indian seamers perfectly did their job in the second innings. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah bowled really well to keep the opposition in check. As a result, England were bowled out for 120 inside 60 overs.
Virat Kohli brother Vikas Kohli’s post goes viral after Team India beat England at Lord’s
Team India won the second Test by 151 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series. This is Virat Kohli’s second victory as captain at the Lord’s in the purest form of the game.
The third Test is just less than a day away from getting underway. It is scheduled to be held at Headingley in Leeds on August 25. It remains to be seen how England would respond especially after their first defeat at the hands of India in this series.
Ahead of the third Test, Virat Kohli’s brother identified as Vikas Kohli made the headlines. Vikas Kohli let out some expletives after India scripted a memorable win at the Home of Cricket.
Check out the post below:
“Champions roar like this…. Hell yeah…. This is to all the who doubt this Team India,” Vikas Kohli captioned the post. The post started doing the rounds on social media platforms.
On the other hand, England wouldn’t keep calm especially after their performance in the second Test. Moreover, their pacer Mark Wood has been ruled out due to an injury. It is really going to be a big challenge for the English team in the games to come.
England should perform as a team in order to confront the Indians. So far, we can deduce that very few players have been doing the task seriously. Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and James Anderson made their presence count while others barely lived up to their expectations.
