For the first time in history, there will be no home advantage to any of the teams. It remains to be seen which team will lift the title this time. Mumbai Indians defended the title for the first time and won the 2020 edition.
The tournament kicks off with Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 9. The second fixture is between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
When Bairstow scared Williamson during a flight
As the video begins, Bairstow gets himself in an unusual position at the seat as he bends himself down in order to scare his Sunrisers Hyderabad teammate Kane Williamson.
As New Zealand captain Williamson entered the flight, he was looking for his seat. While he approaches further, Bairstow pulled out a funny prank at his teammate. SRH fans and others enjoyed the video.
On April Fools day, SRH decided to post this throwback clip along with a caption that reads: “The prankster is here, the victim is coming soon 😁 We can’t wait for all the fun that @jbairstow21 and Kane are going to bring to the #SRHCamp 🙌 On that note, Happy #AprilFoolsDay 😃 #OrangeOrNothing #OrangeArmy.”

SRH take on KKR
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained skipper David Warner, Kane Williamson for the next season of the IPL. On the other hand, Orange army have, however, released the likes of Billy Stanlake, Fabian Allen, Sanjay Yadav, B Sandeep and Y Prithvi Raj.
The important call to retain and release players were taken based on the performances of the last season. Sunrisers Hyderabad had a pretty decent campaign last time. They made it to the playoffs by finishing third in the IPL 2020 points table.
They deserve a certificate of excellence for finishing third despite injuries to key players. David Warner-led SRH got the better of Virat Kohli’s RCB in the eliminator. After that, they reached the second qualifier where they locked horns with Delhi Capitals.
But Shreyas Iyer-led team defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sadly, they had lost their key pacer and vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar to injury. However, they made great use of available resources to reach the semi-finals last year. SRH will begin their campaign by taking on Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 11.
