The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League got off to a sensational start. Mumbai Indians locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli’s team won the game by 1 run to start their campaign on a positive note.
The second fixture of the IPL is between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
CSK lost Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the second and third over of the game. Despite losing two wickets early on, Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina steadied the ship with 53-run partnership.
CSK’s new recruit Moeen Ali scored 36 off 24 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. After his departure, Ambati Rayudu played some shots as he looked good for his 23 off 16 (1 four, 2 sixes).
Raina dismissed in a controversial manner
CSK’s talismanic batsman Suresh Raina made a grand comeback to IPL. The southpaw took the bowling attack to the cleaners and was easily the best batsman for the yellow army. However, things did take a turn after his half-century.
During the first ball of the 16th over, Jadeja struck the ball towards the deep square leg. It looked like an easy 2 runs. As it turned out, Jadeja’s path was intervened by the bowler Avesh Khan as he turned back to take the second run.
