The third and final T20I between Sri Lanka and India turned out to be an absolute shocker. Not only Indian players but also Indian fans were taken aback by Sri Lanka’s sheer dominance.

Sri Lanka bowlers stuck to their line and lengths and kept the Indian batsmen silent throughout the game. On the other hand, the Men in Blue literally showed no intent in terms of scoring runs.

The likes of Shikhar Dhawan (0), Devdutt Padikkal (9), Sanju Samson (0) and Nitish Rana (6) got out cheaply. India’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav top-scored with an unbeaten 23 off 28 balls.

Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 14 off 10 balls including 2 fours. Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 16 off 32 balls. Wanindu Hasaranga dismantled India’s batting line-up with a brilliant four-wicket haul.

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka accounted for two dismissals. On the other hand, Chameera and Ramesh Mendis took a wicket apiece. Overall, Team India managed to score 81/8 in 20 overs.

As a result, Team India went on to register their third-lowest total batting out all 20 overs. This is also their third-lowest T20I total for India. It was an innings that India would like to forget quickly.

When Team India were stuttering at 25/4, most of them were confident that Nitish Rana would go about his business. After scoring 6 off 14 balls, he was already under pressure. However, he tried to play a shot off Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka’s bowling.

As it turned out, he ended up hitting the slower delivery straight towards the bowler. Meanwhile, Shanka grabbed a one-handed screamer to his wrong side and dismissed Rana at the best scene. The video of Shanaka taking a stunner has gone viral on social media platforms.
