Just 2 weeks ago, Pakistan players namely Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed engaged in an altercation on Twitter. The whole episode started with all-rounder Hafeez hailing Mohammad Rizwan as Pakistan’s best wicketkeeper.
Being a cricketer and living a public life is surely not that easy. Each and every time when a cricketer updates a status or posts a tweet, it draws the attention of the cricket fraternity. Media outlets will make the news out of it such that it reaches out to every nook and corner of the country.
Hafeez posted this tweet after Rizwan scored a match-winning T20 century against South Africa at home. While fans started to like his activity, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed decided to come up with his views.
Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Sarfaraz replied to Hafeez’s post by mentioning that whoever has represented Pakistan deserves to occupy the No.1 spot. Although a majority of the fans appreciated Sarfaraz for his bold tweets, it didn’t go down well with Hafeez.
The veteran all-rounder replied to Sarfaraz’s post by saying: “Shallow-minded approach EXPOSED!”. Hafeez’s comment spread like wildfire on social media. The majority of the fans thought that things have gone from bad to worse between these 2 stalwarts.
Sarfaraz shows heart-touching gesture to Hafeez
However, things didn’t escalate further when both of the players played against each other in PSL. During the ongoing sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League match, Hafeez and Sarfaraz once again made the headlines.
While fans thought both players wouldn’t interact with each other after the spat, it didn’t happen like that. During the match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators, both the cricketers settled things quickly and it seems there is no resentment with each other.
Watch the video below:
Lahore Qalandars registered a comprehensive victory. After the game, all-rounder Hafeez led the way with Fakhar Zaman. When cameras were panned on to Sarfaraz, the latter let all-rounder Hafeez lead the teammates off the pitch.
Fans totally loved Sarfaraz’s gesture and the video clip is doing the rounds on the internet. This was a sign of mutual respect between the two stalwarts as both the players set a great example on the field. This goes to show that there is nothing ‘distasteful’ between the two Pakistani cricketers.
Qalandars win by 9 wickets
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to bowl first at National Stadium, Karachi. Quetta Gladiators posted 178 for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Christopher Henry Gayle top-scored with 68 off 40 balls including 5 fours and 5 sixes.
