Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Delhi Capitals in the 7th match of the ongoing season of the IPL. Earlier, Rajasthan Royals lost their opening contest against Punjab Kings by 4 runs at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals started their campaign on a fantastic note. They got the better of Chennai Super Kings in their game. DC won the game by 7 wickets to clinch their opening game in Mumbai.
Talking about the game, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first. RR bowlers ripped through the defence of DC’s batting line-up. As a result, they restricted them to 147/8 in 20 overs.
DC captain Rishabh Pant was the pick of the batsmen as he played a fearless brand of cricket. The southpaw scored 51 off 32 balls with the help of 9 boundaries at a strike rate of 159.38.
Pant was the lone warrior for his side as no other batsman failed to add value to the scoreboard. Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals as he took 3 wickets to his name.
Unadkat was also the best economical bowler of the game as he conceded just 15 runs. Bangladesh’s left-arm quick Mustafizur Rahman was the next bowler of the game. The left-arm pacer took 2 wickets to his credit.
Riyan Parag hits the bull’s eye
When Rishabh Pant was looking dangerous at the crease, RR bowlers found it really hard to keep him silent. However, Riyan Parag showcased his fielding masterclass by dismissing Pant in the form of a run out.
During the 4th ball of the 13th over bowled by Parag, Pant tried to nudge the ball towards the extra over region. Meanwhile, Parag sprinted and collected the ball by himself. After that, he aimed at the stumps directly. Parag hit the bull’s eye as Pant was run out.
