Video: MS Dhoni puts a full-blooded dive to return back to his crease against RR


Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the second-most successful captain in the Indian Premier League. Chennai Super Kings won three titles under the astute leadership traits of MS Dhoni.

CSK also maintained a unique record of qualifying for the playoffs in their participating season. However, they missed out on making it into the playoffs in the 2020 season of the IPL.

The yellow army finished 7th in the points table with 6 wins and 8 defeats. MS Dhoni had a disastrous season with the bat as he did not score even a single half-century in the cash-rich IPL.

This was the first time in his IPL career that he failed to score a fifty in the entire season in the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, the CSK captain struggled to run between the wickets as well.

MS Dhoni managed to score just 200 runs in 14 games a terrible batting average of 25. He also came under fire for his poor strike rate of 116.27. The captain registered his best score of 47*.

After a disappointing campaign, many were of the opinion that MS Dhoni would quit the league post-IPL 2020. However, the captain himself made it clear that this was not his last season.

CSK captain MS Dhoni might not have had a good time with the bat this season but he ensured to lead his troops ever so well in the ongoing season of the IPL. Playing 3 games so far, Dhoni scored just 18 runs to his name. CSK kick-started their campaign with a defeat over Delhi Capitals. However, they defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in the second game.

During their third game against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni put it in a full-blooded dive and the video went viral. After defending the first two balls, MS Dhoni nudged a forward defensive shot off Rahul Tewatia, MS Dhoni wanted to take a single. Meanwhile, his partner Ravindra Jadeja sent him back. The 39-year-old put on a full-stretched dive and reached the crease on time before Sanju Samson dislodged the bails.
