Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 19th game of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. The match took place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis constructed a quickfire 74-run partnership for the first wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal got rid of Gaikwad (33) in the first ball of the 10th over.
Suresh Raina scored 24 off 18 balls including 1 four and 3 sixes. Harshal Patel dismissed the southpaw and Faf du Plessis in the fourth and fifth ball of the 14th over.
The former South African captain scored 50 off 41 balls with the help of 5 fours and a six at a strike rate of 121.95. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the batsmen as he smacked the bowlers all around the park.
The southpaw scored an unbeaten 62 off 28 balls with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes. The 32-year-old all-rounder maintained a staggering strike rate of 221.43.
Jadeja smashed 37 runs in the last over off Harshal Patel’s bowling. Chennai Super Kings posted a humongous total of 191 for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
Jadeja dismisses AB de Villiers with a superb delivery
Ravindra Jadeja brought the best out of himself with the ball apart from his batting masterclass. He spun the web at the right place and at the right time to account for three dismissals in his quota of 4 overs. The best part of all-rounder’s delivery was when he got rid of AB de Villiers in the first ball of the 10th over.
The former Proteas batsman missed the ball completely and gets his woodwork disrupted courtesy, an excellent ball from Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja also got rid of Washington Sundar and Glenn Maxwell. Jadeja was named the Player of the Match.
