Punjab Kings are locking horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in the 21st game of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. The game is taking place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both teams are not in good form at the moment. The Knight Riders have been in pathetic form this season as they are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2021 points table.
Eoin Morgan’s side played 5 games so far this season. Out of the 5 games, they could win just once but lost on 4 occasions. They secured just 2 points and that too with a Net Run Rate of -0.675.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings find themselves in rough patch now. They played 5 games wherein they won 2 games but lost thrice. They secured 4 points with a Net Run Rate of -0.428.
Talking about the game, KKR captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bowl first. KKR bowlers contained the PBKS’ batting line-up pretty well as they didn’t let them add flesh to the scorecard.
Punjab Kings could score 123/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Mayank Agarwal top-scored with 31 off 34 (1 four, 2 sixes). Chris Jordan provided some lift in the end with 30 off just 18 balls (1 four, 3 sixes).
Moises Henriques lost control of his bat while going for a shot
Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques had a bad day at the office against Punjab Kings. He struggled to time the balls properly in the first few balls before he was dismissed by Sunil Narine. Henriques departed for just 2 off 3 balls. However, Henriques grabbed the headlines after he lost control of his bat while trying to play a shot.
The incident happened during the fifth ball of the 12th over when the Australian accidentally threw his bat while facing Sunil Narine. After failing to connect the ball with the bat, he lost control of his willow and even the wicketkeeper couldn’t catch the ball. Meanwhile, Henriques completed the run without his bat just by running to the non-striker’s end.
