Glenn Maxwell suffered the wrath of the netizens when he failed to live up to his stature in the last season. Australia all-rounder failed to score runs while plying his trade for Punjab Kings at the United Arab Emirates.
The 32-year-old big-hitting all-rounder did not hit even a single ‘six’ throughout the season. This literally goes to show how badly he had performed in the 2020 season. The franchises trusted him a lot and went all out for him in the 2020 auction.
Punjab Kings splashed the cash to secure his services for INR 10.75 crore. As it turned out, it was the biggest mistake that the Punjab-based franchise made in their journey. Maxwell couldn’t even stay at the crease and was dismissed soon by the opposition bowlers.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was the first to expose Maxwell while talking to the Facebook series titled Viru Ki Baithak. Sehwag said 10-crore cheerleader (Glenn Maxwell) proved costly for the Punjab franchise.
“Maxwell has had a bad record of shirking work over the past few seasons. But this season he went to new extremes,” Sehwag said. Punjab Kings failed to make it to the playoffs last season. They finished sixth in the points table with 6 wins and 8 defeats.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will begin their campaign on April 9 against Mumbai Indians. The match will kick-off MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. There will be no home advantage to any of the IPL teams for the first time.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have a great opportunity to defend the title to become the first team to win 3 titles in a row. Both teams faced each other in 27 games. MI hold the cutting edge with 17 wins. On the contrary, RCB won the rest 10 games.
