Talking about the match, Islamabad United secured four important points to sit at the second spot. Earlier, United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and opted to bowl first in Karachi. Karachi Kings dominated the gameplay with ease as they posted 196/3 in their quota of 20 overs.
Karachi Kings’ opener Sharjeel Khan was the pick of the batsmen as he scored 105 off 59 balls including 9 fours and 8 sixes. Babar Azam also played well for his 62 off 54 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. In reply, Islamabad United lost 5 wickets in their run-chase.
However, they comfortably tracked down the target by 5 wickets in 19.1 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed remained not out on 49 off 37 balls including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Alex Hales scored a blistering 46 off 21 balls including 8 fours and a six. Hussain Talat scored 42 off 31 (4 fours) while Asif Ali scored 21 off 9 balls (1 four, 2 sixes).
