In a rather surprising admission, Arturo Vidal revealed that Brazilian club Flamengo is his ‘dream club’
The Chilean has been put on the shop window by Bayern Munich. With a young coach in Niko Kovac coming through the doors, Hollywood FC is willing to listen to offers for several of its stars including Vidal. The player has long been on the radar on several Premier League clubs.
Chelsea even tried to sign him from Juventus when it was apparent that his future lies away from Turin. However, he chose to return to the Bundesliga with the Bavarians. He has since scored 22 goals in 132 appearances.
Earlier, the 31-year-old claimed that he would only consider to a Champions League side but his recent comments are quite to the contrary. Apparently, Brazilian club Flamengo is Vidal’s dream club.
“I like Flamengo. I am very close to Renato Augusto. He’s a great friend of mine and always talked to me about the club and their fans. I’d like to live that energy. Playing for Flamengo, at the Maracana, would be a dream.”
“If they want to contact me, I’m here. We would win Libertadores, Brasileirao, Carioca… everything.”
"I hope to play for Flamengo at some point. If they sign me up, we'll win the Copa Libertadores and every other trophy. I used to play with (Brazil international) Renato Augusto and he told me a lot about the team and their fans."-Arturo Vidal

Vidal shared the pitch with Renato Augusto during their time together at Bayer Leverkusen. The World Cup Brazilian moved to Leverkusen after a three-year spell with Flamengo.
The Chilean meanwhile has a lot to think right now. He has just a year remaining on his contract and at the age of 31, this summer might be his last chance of securing a big money move. Chelsea and Manchester United’s interest remains albeit a little less than in the years gone by. He still possesses his box-to-box abilities and has a good couple of years left in him. A big move beckons, it all depends on the player now.
