Sunrisers Hyderabad had a bad season right from the start of the 14th edition of the IPL. They are the only team who are yet to win even a single game so far this season.
Having played 3 games so far, David Warner-led Sunrisers lost to Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Mumbai Indians in the ongoing season.
They are placed at the bottom of the IPL 2021 points table. However, they have a great chance of starting their campaign with a win against the Punjab Kings.
Both teams are facing against each other at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first.
Punjab Kings totally lost the plot right from the start as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Shahrukh Khan and Mayank Agarwal scored 22 each as PBKS were clueless against SRH’s bowling attack.
In the end, PBKS were bowled out for a paltry 120 in 19.4 overs. Khaleel Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrisers as he took 3 wickets to his name. He registered 3/21 in 4 overs while Abhishek Sharma took 2 wickets to his name.
Siddarth Kaul misjudged drop catch leaves on-field umpire confused
During the game, a massive confusion took place during the 8th over after Siddarth Kaul’s miscalculated drop catch off Vijay Shankar’s bowling. Deepak Hooda who played a hoot shot ended up mistiming the ball. Meanwhile, Siddarth Kaul who was the fine leg made an effort but the ball already went over his head. Here comes the plot twist.
Initially, it looked as if there was nothing wrong with the attempt. But later, it was learnt that Kaul made a big mistake. He made a huge miscalculation when he actually needed to be close to the ropes in the first place. But the ball flew over his head and raced towards the ropes. Kaul’s misjudged drop confused the umpire as he signaled a six and then changed it to four after a couple of seconds.
