Chennai Super Kings are locking horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 19th match of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Both teams are in sensational form as they are dominating the points table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are on top of this season’s points table as they won 4 games on the trot. Besides that, they also maintained a pretty good Net Run Rate of +1.009.
On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are second in this season’s points table. They lost their opening game against Delhi Capitals. After that, they defeated Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.
Talking about the game, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. CSK got off to a flying start, thanks to Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
The openers added a vital 74-run stand for the first wicket. Gaikwad departed after scoring 33 off 25 balls with the help of 4 fours and a six at a strike rate of 132.
On the other hand, Faf du Plessis started flexing his muscles alongside Suresh Raina. Meanwhile, RCB got an easy opportunity to run the southpaw out but they failed to do it.
Yuzvendra Chahal forgets to run Suresh Raina out; AB de Villiers unhappy
The incident happened during the third ball of the 10th over bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina tried to nudge the ball towards the point region. However, the ball went on to hit his pads and went between point and silly point.
AB de Villiers sprinted forward to pick up the ball and threw the ball towards Yuzvendra Chahal at the non-striker’s end. As Suresh Raina tried to reach the other end, Chahal was not behind the stumps to run him. Raina would have got out for a duck had Chahal was behind the stumps.
