Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United sealed their hard-fought victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

The match was said to be yet another Mourinho masterclass. However, that wasn’t the case in the second-half as United looked better and unlocked the Spurs defence late on to make it a 1-0 victory.

The first half was a balanced affair. Spurs looked to be the team with better ideas on the ball. However, they failed to cause any real troubles for the United defence.

Dele Alli’s chance against United was the only threat of the second half for United. Martial capitalised on Eric Dier’s slow reactions to give Mourinho all three points on the day. This victory means that United have now closed the gap at the top of the league. Manchester City will be wary of their rivals’ progress.

This game was massive for Manchester United. There was absolutely no question of losing and Mourinho delivered in a big game this time. Martial redeemed himself with the United fans and all looks good for the Red Devils at the moment. They’ve got bigger tests coming up with Chelsea next week providing a tough challenge.
