Tribute: England’s 1966 World Cup winner Jack Charlton died at the age of 85


England football board paid tribute to 1966 world cup winner England’s defender Jack Charlton.

Recently, the starlet of England football and former Irish manager Jack Charlton passed away peacefully on 10th June 2020. However, his family declared that Jack was ill due to long-term weakness.

Moreover, while playing at the 1966 FIFA World Cup Jack Charlton played all the matches of England. Whereas, he played at the defense position. As a result, he became the part of the World Cup-winning squad along with his brother.

Meanwhile, playing for the Leeds club he arrived in 773 matches for them throughout his 23 years of club career. On the other hand, Jack Charlton also worked as the Republic of Ireland’s manager and coached for two World Cups & European Championship.

First of all his family stated that Jack Charlton died at the age of 85 years & was living with family in Northumberland. Further, they said, “As well as a friend to many, he was a much-adored husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.”

Furthermore, they added we are not able to express his great work. As many of them had got a good life because of him in different nations. However, he was a kind of Jolly person and always available for the people. Hence, his departure will put a big void in between family but thankful for his great memories, Family concluded.

England football contributed to it by posting the tweet on its official Twitter account. They said that we were shocked by listening about Jack’s departure. We have sympathy for Jack Charlton’s family along with his former clubs where he spends his valuable time.

Along with the first tweet, they had also added another tweet to their account about Jack Charlton. Therefore, they shared one of the memories about the Jack Charlton and out throwback on the 2015 Dublin tour.

Liam Cooper & Republic of Ireland added a tribute to Jack Charlton

Leeds club star player Liam Cooper also contributed and said that it was the sad day for us & rest in peace Jack. Along with the Republic of Ireland also twitted on the official accounts and expressed that it was the heartbreaking news for us. As he had changed the face of Ireland’s football.
