Tottenham want playmaker to replace Eriksen – Spurs prepared to pay the transfer fee

Tottenham considering signing AC Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu in this January transfer window.

Aksam’s report claimed that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wants to replace Christian Eriksen with the 25-year-old.

According to reports Inter Milan required 20m Euro as a transfer fee for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder. And the amazing thing is that Tottenham are ready to pay for it.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has identified the former Bayer Leverkusen star as a replacement for Christian Eriksen. He is out of contract at the North London outfit in the summer of 2020, according to the report.

Milan reportedly values Calhanoglu in €20m, and Aksam claim Tottenham are willing to pay that.

Tottenham accepted to loose its most vital creative force in this transfer window or the next. Eriksen running down his contract and looking set to link up with Inter Milan.

Calhanoglu’s contract with AC Milan will expire at the end of next season. The reason is the Italian Club could look to sell him before the contract expires on a transfer fee or cut-price fee.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho identified former Bayer Leverkusen as a replacement for Christian Eriksen. Bayer has made 18 appearances for his club in Serie A this season and scored two goals.

The report further added that Turkey international is ready to leave the Italian club this month. Mourinho speaks in favor of the prospective transfer, with the 25-year-old seen as the ideal candidate to fill Eriksen’s boots.

The fact he wasn’t injured, believed to have raised Mourinho’s hopes of snapping up the former playmaker in the winter window.

Calhanoglu wanted to continue in England, linked with Arsenal this month. It has increased the Tottenham chance for signing him and observe him on board.

The Mirror claimed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta looking into possibly seeking and securing the services of 25-year-old.

Calhanoglu remains highly rated, just he scored 2 goals and one assist in Italian top flights this season. He forged a reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest free-kick specialists during his time at Leverkusen.

A better plan for Spurs seems to be simply trusting Giovani LoCelso to handle Eriksen’s workload in the middle of the pitch.

Calhanoglu will become Tottenham’s second January signing if he rocks up in north London, following in the footsteps of loanee Gedson Fernandes.
