Tottenham Hotspur are off to a flying start in the Premier League. They have registered three wins in three matches and are now sitting firmly at the top of the table. However, one might point out that they have fairly got the easier ties.
While that is also debatable, they managed to beat reigning PL champions Manchester City. And to add on top of that, Spurs have just nicked the three victories by a mere margin of one goal to nil.
It just goes on to show the gritty work that Nuno Sants’s men have in at the start of the season. Nevertheless, Spurs still have to win a game convincingly.
The more challenging games are not very far away from them. Those fixtures will truly show if Tottenham Hotspur have managed to turn a corner under the Portuguese manager.
Tottenham Hotspur news: Brilliant transfer window for the North London club
However, no one can deny the fact behind Tottenham’s brilliant transfer business. New manager Nuno Espirito Santo and the new director of football Fabio Paratici have done a good job. They recruited the right players that exactly suit their style of play and philosophy of football.
Adding to that, the club management have also gotten rid of many fringe players. Though there are still some fringe players sitting. Daniel Levy even managed to keep hold of Harry Kane. The fact that Harry Kane is going to stay at Spurs is the biggest win of all for Daniel Levy.
Tottenham Hotspur news: Harry Kane breaks silence after failed transfer
Harry Kane was pushing for a transfer to Manchester City during the whole summer. He had already informed the club about his intention to leave during the summer. Manchester City even made multiple attempts to bring him.
Perhaps it was his primary goal to move away. Manchester City wanted a striker after the departure of Sergio Aguero. And everything looked set for the Cityzens to acquire Harry Kane. There were even reports suggesting that Manchester City had made a bid north of £100 million.
But Daniel Levy made it clear that their star footballer was not for sale. Even though it was looking likely that Kane would move, a deal did not materialize. Manchester City walked away with frustration with Harry Kane staying put at Tottenham.
In a recently given interview to talkSPORT, Harry Kane has broken his silence regarding the failed move. He said “My focus moving forward is to win silverware at Tottenham and this year is no different. I know there was a lot of noise around me but I was calm. I knew the situation between me and the club.”
From the words of Harry Kane, it looks like he is not a happy man. He has defended himself regarding the decision to move out.
However, it looks more likely that Harry Kane will force a move again next summer. The only difference will be that he will be more prepared next summer after learning this summer.
