Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing to sign Manchester United’s 27-year-old attacking midfielder with Dele Alli in the cusp of playing for Ligue 1 club. Jose Mourinho wants to build a competitive side this summer with a new-look Spurs. The London-based club is right now having a good start to the Premier League. However, they lost their first fixture against Carlos Ancelotti’s Everton.
The Merseyside club won their initial fixture away from their home courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal. Spurs did start-off the game very well against Everton with Harry Kane leading the attack for Mourhino’s side. However, Spurs couldn’t find the final pass inside the box against Everton’s defense. Ancelotti did create history with Everton by winning on London soil after years.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin once again got his name to the scoresheet on the opening day of Premier League action. While James Rodriguez did start the game under his well-known Ancelotti and registered his debut for Everton in Premier League. Jose Mourinho suffered an early defeat and not the start that he would’ve expected on the home ground. Portuguese manager played his favorite 4-2-3-1 formation against Ancelotti.
Dele Alli featured in the starting lineup of Jose Mourinho, who has been a renowned name amongst Spurs army. Now, Jose wants to offload the midfielder this summer with Gareth Bale’s arrival. It will be a happy reunion for both Spurs fans and Bale since 2013. The Welsh men left Tottenham for Real Madrid back in 2013 for a record fee. Now, he’ll join the Spurs on a loan spell with an option to buy at the end.
Paris Saint-Germain shows interest in signing Dele Alli
According to BBC Sport, Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain ready to sign the English midfielder Dele Alli from Tottenham this summer. However, Alli wants to stay at White Hart Lane and fight for his place. On the other hand, reports from The Times suggest that Mourinho wants to land Jesse Lingard from Manchester United if they can find a buyer for Alli before the deadline.
Paris Saint-Germain are struggling to find their rhythm in Ligue 1 after two consecutive losses. The star-studded side is suffering under Thomas Tuchel, who took the side to the Champions League final last month. Now, they have decided to put their German midfielder Julian Draxler on the transfer list. A number of clubs are lining up bids for the star midfielder. While, Dele Alli could be the man, who can replace the place to be left vacant by Draxler.
Dele Alli has been a regular starter for the Spurs since arriving back in the 2014-15 season as a 17-year-old kid from MK Dons. While Real Madrid has also expressed interest in signing the English midfielder from Spurs. However, he wants to stay at White Hart Lane and prove himself to Jose Mourinho.
Can Lingard shine at Spurs?
The English attacking midfielder is being eyed by Spurs this summer. As per reports, Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman has already begun talks with Manchester United to sign Jesse Lingard. Jose would love to have a reunion with Jesse Lingard at Spurs. Lingard has played two and half years under Mourinho at Old Trafford before taken over by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He has been doing well for Manchester United over the past seasons. However, he couldn’t replicate the form that he had during the initial seasons. The 27-year-old has been a regular for United over seasons but recently he has been in and out. The Englishmen struggling to find his rhythm under Ole. It’s the right move for him to get back his form under his former coach.
Lingard made 40 appearances over-all competitions for Manchester United under Ole last season. He did score 4 goals in all competitions and got two assists to his name. Mourinho can use him well at Spurs in the midfield alongside new signing Hojbjerg. While Lingard can also play in both sides of the wing if needed.
Gareth Bale’s arrival
Spurs have also announced the signing of two Los Blancos stars. Manchester United was in pole position to sign the Spanish full-back from Real Madrid. Spurs came in from nowhere to seal the deal for Reguilon last week. Mourinho was keen after selling their right-back to the Saints. However, within no time they signed Matt Doherty from Wolves, who also featured in Spurs opening fixture.
Reguilon has been in terrific form at the wings the last term. He had a good loan stint with Sevilla partnering with Lucas Ocampas and Jesus Navas. Reguilon also won the prestigious Europa League title as well before returning to Madrid. Spurs have also struck a deal with Real Madrid for Gareth Bale, who has not been in good touch and in plans of Zidane.
However, it’s a loan deal for Gareth Bale, which might later be turned in to permanent deal if Tottenham are impressed. United were long time admirers of Gareth Bale but missed on the player as usual. Hope, Bale can regain his lost form under Jose.
