The Norwich City right-back has a market price of around £30 million. Managerless Tottenham have placed the director of football Fabio Paratici in charge of recruitment.
Manchester United and Merseyside club Everton are also in the race for Adams. The 21-year-old is in great demand and Tottenham will need to move fast if they are keen to secure a move.
Aurier is linked with a move to former Ligue 1 champions PSG this summer. The player has already made his stance clear and will not be signing a contract extension with the North London club.
“Everyone knows that if I wanted to extend my contract at Tottenham, I’d have already done so. Both parties, the board, and my agents are in agreement in terms of the conditions, so we will see.”– Aurier had made it clear that he is not going to stay at Tottenham.
He further said that he has experienced the Premier League and the UCL final and now a move is inevitable. If PSG make an offer then Aurier will not think twice and would be happy to move to his former club and also reunite with Pochettino. His deal expires in 2022.
Why do these clubs want Max Aarons?
Currently, at Norwich City, the right-back has stood out at the club. He has shown glimpses of great potential and has been great for the Canaries. A move to a top-flight club has been inevitable for the Englishman since clubs have been looking to sign him since last year. He can play as both right or a left-back. But the Canaries blocked the move and he was forced to stay for another season.
Blocking his move paid off. He helped them gain promotion and was impressive for his side in the 33 matches he played in the Championship. He helped them gain promotion.
With the Canaries back in Premier League, they can now sell him for a good price. Since a promotion puts them in a strong position to negotiate.
Where will he go?
Manchester United and Everton have been in the market for the Englishman for quite some time. Tottenham have joined the race only recently after deciding he wasn’t worth the effort previously. They were forced to reignite their interest in the 21-year-old after Aurier’s demand for a move. Another reason was the high transfer fee for their first target Tariq Lamptey. So in search of a cheaper solution to their problem they have turned to Aarons.
A move to Tottenham would be his best option out of the three. At the Lilywhites he would get enough game time to develop and reach his potential, they are also one of the top 6. While at Manchester United he would be a benchwarmer and an understudy to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
A move to the North-London will be tempting compared to Everton, who could offer the same but Tottenham is one of the top six and obviously would have an advantage compared to the Merseyside club.
