Tammy Abraham has been ousted from the Chelsea squad after Thomas Tuchel came into power. He has made a tough decision of excluding him and Abraham’s future at the club is also lingering. Many clubs have shown interest in signing him with West Ham keen the most.
Tammy has been a Chelsea Youth product and has been there since he was a kid. He was a talented kid in the park and his talent was seen by the manager in 2016, who gave him his debut that season itself. It was also a memorable one as he played against Liverpool.
In the 2016-17 season, he was loaned to Bristol City. He made his presence felt with a brilliant performance that season. Tammy went on to score 26 goals in his first full season in just 48 appearances. He bagged the Bristol City’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Top Goalscorer awards by the end.
He also became the first player in the Championship history to will all three in a single season. The English forward was sent out on loan again to Swansea City after signing a new 5-year deal with Chelsea. He could not make the same impact as he had at Bristol City.
He was only able to score 8 goals with Swansea, who eventually relegated from the Premier League. Following the completion of that loan, the same was repeated when he joined Aston Villa. He regained his top form and kept on smashing goals.
Tammy broke a few records and ended his campaign after helping The Villans get promoted to the Premier League with 26 goals in 40 matches. He was also 2nd on the goalscoring list behind Temmu Pukki.
Tammy Abraham future at Chelsea at huge risk under Thomas Tuchel
In the 2019-20 season, he finally got his chance in the Chelsea squad under the club legend, Frank Lampard’s reign. He excelled under him and was always the preferred striker. Enjoying a perfect season with 47 appearances, he scored 18 goals in his full season with Chelsea.
The form was only improving under Lampard as he had scored 12 goals halfway through the season. However, it was shattered once Frank Lampard was sacked and replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Since the German’s appointment, the 23-year-old striker has been struggling to get playtime. Even worse, he is struggling to even break into the Chelsea squad.
He is yet to score a goal under him and he has been left out of 12 fixtures since mid-February. He has not been able to taste Chelsea’s successful run into the semi-finals of the Champions League. Thomas Tuchel’s latest exclusion of Tammy Abraham from the team in the FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City has heightened the troubling relationship between the two.
“I hope that he does not get lost in too many thoughts. He knows that he is not to be too concerned and enter into too many thoughts about his situation.
What he can do is stay focused, stay with belief. The situation for a striker can change in minutes. I hope he is not concerned about his future. I hope the only thing he cares about is his training.” – Thomas Tuchel said in a press conference on Monday.
There are speculation suggesting that the player is unhappy and frustrated and is looking for an exit. If that is to happen, he has plenty of suitors. West Ham are keen on signing him as well as Leicester City who are looking to find the perfect replacement for Jamie Vardy.
