England vs India test series is set to commence from 4th August. A Combined County XI game was organized before the start of the series. After the conversation of ECB and BCCI, the Indian team two players played for ECB as they couldn’t arrange 11 players for the warm-up game.
Initially young batsman Shubman Gill got injured and was ruled out of the series. Next was Rishabh Pant testing positive but was termed “asymptomatic”. Although he was isolated for precautions in following all regulations. He joined the team recently for the upcoming series. It gave the Indian squad a boost considering the form in which Rishabh Pant is in.
But another bad news was announced by BCCI, as Avesh khan faced finger injury in the Country match. “Fast bowler Avesh Khan sustained a blow to his left thumb on Day 1 of the warm-up game. He has gone to get a scan. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him.”– said BCCI in an official tweet initially.
Following that another tweet was posted –“Fast bowler Avesh Khan remains under the observation of the BCCI Medical Team. He will not be taking any further part on Day 2 and Day 3 of the warm-up game.”
BCCI didn’t announce any replacement for the player yet. The 24 player squad is down to 22 for players for the England test series.
Reports- W. Sundar ruled out of series
As per the latest reports of TOI, Washington Sundar is set to be out of the series due to a finger injury. No official confirmation has come from BCI yet. But we might see news come out before the end of the day. But what is more important is that the Indian team is having a hard time in England amid covid risk as well.
Indian squad is playing two tours at the same time making it difficult for them to announce replacement and due to quarantine procedure, it will be difficult to call players from the Sri Lanka tour.
