It has been confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed terms for a move to Juventus in the current transfer window, after being in talks with the Serie A champs for the past few days.
The 33 year old Portugal international will now be leaving the Bernabeu and moving away to Turin, where he will continue his career.
Florentino Perez and Jorge Mendes were said to have met to discuss the future of Ronaldo at Real Madrid, though it seems now that he will now be leaving.
The star had been linked with a move away from Madrid for quite some time, with Premier League giants Manchester United and more recently the Serie A holders looking to sign him.
The two clubs were looking to add him to their squad in the current transfer window, though it is now clear that he will be leaving the Champions League winners and moving to Italy. The recent rumours suggest that he will not be with the Los Blancos next term, with the club now looking to cash in on him.
The two parties have reached an agreement on a four-year deal worth €30m (£26.5m/$35m) per term. A fee with Madrid still has to be negotiated by the Italians, though it should be about €100m (£88m/$117m), yet can go up to €120m (£106m/$140.5m).
This is exactly the reason why Perez and Mendes wanted to have talks as to what could have been done with regards to his future, though the fans would be shocked by his decision to leave.
Despite their best efforts, it seems that the forward is keen on starting a new chapter of his life in Turin and does not wish to remain with Real anymore.
There is no doubt that the fans would surely want him to stay, after former boss Zidane left the club a few months ago. Though Julen Lopetegui has taken over at the club from the Frenchman’s role, it will surely take him some time to settle down and for this purpose, the Real Madrid faithful would have hoped that their top players would remain at the club. However it seems, that is not going to be the case anymore.
