With Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid this summer, there is a space for stars to emerge and hog the limelight and this has reportedly made this midfielder wanting a return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Following his impressive performance for Colombia in the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil, La Liga behemoths splashed the cash to sign attacking midfielder James Rodriguez Monaco. Real Madrid reportedly spent 63 million Euros to sign James Rodriguez on a 6-year contract.
However, things did not go as planned for James Rodriguez as their then-manager Zinedine Zidane found the Colombian surplus to his requirements. Real Madrid eventually decided to loan out Rodriguez to Bundes Liga giants Bayern Munich with an option to make the deal permanent.
Since his move to Germany, Rodriguez has been performing decently. Last season, he performed well for Bayern Munich and this season, he has already started to make a positive impression. According to German magazine Kicker, defending Bundes Liga winner Bayern Munich thinks that the Colombian superstar wants a return back to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid reportedly had an interest in bringing back James Rodriguez from Bayern Munich since the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner left them shockingly. Zinedine Zidane also left the club just days after helping them win the UEFA Champions League. But, the 27-year-old decided to stay in Germany.
If Rodrigues feels he wants to return back to Spain and play for Real Madrid and if the Los Blancos are interested in signing back the player they loaned out to Bayern, the defending UEFA Champions League winners will have to repay Bayern Munich. Real will reportedly have to pay Bayern Munich 11.5 million Euros since they would have to break the terms [ and agreements with Bayern Munich] to sign Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is enjoying a fine spell with Bayern Munich. He has become a regular for the defending Bundes Liga winners and is looking forward to dethroning Real Madrid as Champions League winners. However, it remains to be seen what Real Madrid and Rodriguez would decide.
