“Neymar should stay away from Real Madrid and Barcelona” Super agent reveals

Super-agent, Pini Zahavi believes Neymar needs to stay away from the shadows of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The so-called ‘super agent’ helped to broker a 222 million euro deal for Neymar to Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2017. At the time,  the Brazilian wished to move out of Messi’s shadow and become the star of PSG, a move which the agent played a major part in. Now Zahavi claims that Neymar should not move to the Bernabeu as it would mean he would be considered second best to Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid

While speaking to Przeglad Sportowy Zahavi said: “Neymar did what he had to. There are only three football superstars – Messi, Cristiano and Neymar. They can’t play in one club. At Barca, Ney was always the No. 2. He was the second to shoot from free-kicks, second to the penalties, second to everything.”

Zahavi further mentions that the PSG superstar has to remain independent considering he still has time to play football at the highest level for more seasons to come. According to UOL Esporte, Zahavi was part of a PSG delegation which traveled to Brazil to check on the Brazilian’s recovery from foot surgery in March.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have been reported to be after the Brazilian. With a plan to revamp their squad this summer, Neymar may be a major part of the Galacticos’ plan to find a replacement for their main man Cristiano Ronaldo. A return to La Liga by signing for Real would mean Neymar would switch from playing with Lionel Messi to playing with the Argentine’s great rival Ronaldo.

Neymar has racked up 28 goals in 30 games for the French giants this season before sustaining an injury in a game against Marseille. Now the superstar is in a race to recover in time for the World Cup.

Author’s take:

Neymar is widely considered as the best player in the world after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. If Neymar signs for Real Madrid, he may be taking a step backwards. It will be difficult for the Brazilian to dethrone Ronaldo at the Bernabeu. However, will Neymar end up staying at the French capital at the end of the season? Only time will tell.
