Star Indian cricketer opens up on his connection with popular Bollywood actress

Retired Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif is widely recognized as one of the best fielders to have ever donned the Indian jersey. Apart from his fielding and acrobatic catches, the veteran is also remembered for his splendid partnership with Yuvraj Singh at the Lords Cricket Ground in the Natwest Final of 2002 which saw winning the tri-series also featuring Sri Lanka. The 37 year old has played 13 tests and 125 ODIs for India with 624 and 2753 runs under his belt in each of the formats, also including three centuries against West Indies, Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Kaif has also amassed over 10000 runs in first class cricket with 19 centuries to his name. Kaif last played for India back in 2006 and was last seen playing for the Palace Diamonds in the St Moritz Ice Cricket tournament in Switzerland, also featuring other retired Indian cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar.

The former Indian cricketer recently took the internet by storm when he took to his official twitter handle to host a question and answer session going by the name of #AskKaif. One of the twitter users decided to ask him if he was related to popular Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif on account of the same surname. The 37 year old was equal to the point and decided to clear the matter once and for all. The retired professional replied that he was happily married and not related to the Bollywood actress in any way.
