Sheffield United set to sign youngster for club record fee

Manchester United set £20m price tag for their prodigy with Sheffield United willing to pay a club record fee to acquire the youngsters’ services.

Sheffield United have to pay £20m in order to sign Dean Henderson permanently from Manchester United.

According to Sun, Manchester United have set £20million price tag for the young goalkeeper, who is currently on loan with the Blades. Henderson recently signed a new contract at Old Trafford and therefore Red Devils are looking to demand a higher fee for the English goalkeeper.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper recently made a big error in Premier League game against Liverpool by letting Wijnaldum’s shot slip through his hands. The sole goal by Dutchman remained to be the difference between the two sides this week at Bramall Lane.

Would Blades spend £20m for Henderson?

However, United wants to sell this prodigy for a good price this summer with De Gea signing a contract extension recently which will keep him at the club till 2023.

Dean Henderson is one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers in Premier League this season. Dean was even mentioned by his country’s manager Gareth Southgate that the youngster is ready for a senior call-up.

With De Gea signing a contract extension, Henderson chances of starting is a big doubt. Sheffield United are reportedly ready to spend £20million for the English goalie, which will be a club-record fee.

The Blades recently signed Oli McBurnie from Swansea this summer after his brilliant performances last season in Championship. The Scottish forward was signed for around £17.5milion, which could rise to £20m with add-ons.

This means that Sheffield United can afford to sign Henderson permanently to keep him at Bramall Lane. The Blades have been doing well in the Premier League after gaining promotion from Championship. This signature would be a big boost as Henderson’s value might increase gradually as he is having the age and potential on his side.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper has made seven appearances for Sheffield United this season and has kept two clean sheets with seven goals conceded.
