Serie A Star’s Agent Reveals Secret Information On Manchester United Deal

Napoli midfielder Jorginho’s agent has rubbished any rumors of any contact from Manchester United regarding a transfer for the midfielder.

Jorginho has been one of the star players for Serie A side Napoli this season with several clubs interested in his services. Manchester United and Manchester City are heavily linked with a move for the Italian who has impressed heavily for the Partenopei, who almost clinched the Scudetto.

On Thursday, reports in Italy claimed that Manchester United hold the edge over their other English rivals in the race to sign Jorginho. The report also claimed that super-agent Jorge Mendes held talks with Napoli regarding a move for the 26-year-old midfielder. However, Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos has denied any such reports claiming that he has no information over a potential deal for his client to Manchester United.

Joao Santos Denies Any Rumors-

Santos did admit that United would like to have Jorginho in their squad but there has been no solid base regarding a move for Jorginho, speaking to Radio CRC, Santos said, “I heard that Jorge Mendes would like to take him [Jorginho] to United but I do not know anything about it, nobody called me, At the moment, given the two-year contract with Napoli, the last word is up to De Laurentiis [Napoli’s president].”

But Santos also ruled out a possible move away for Jorginho in the summer as hasn’t received any official offers, “Everyone asks for information, but nobody has made any official offers so I can’t say which track is hotter, I’ve already been to all the English clubs because that’s my job, I get information.  If he were to leave Napoli. I can say that Jorginho wouldn’t play for any other team, even if he didn’t have any release clause.”

Author’s Take-

It’s strange that nobody has bid for Jorginho as of yet, despite the rumors floating across Europe regarding a move for the midfielder. I think that Jorginho is extremely good and losing him would hurt Napoli a lot but if the Italian club receives a massive fee in return, the club will choose to sell.
