Napoli midfielder Jorginho’s agent has warned Manchester United and Manchester City of the interest from several other clubs.
The highly-rated midfielder has been the subject of interest from many top suitors across the continent with Jorginho incredible performances guiding the Italian unit to the 2nd spot on the Serie A table. And the 26-year-old is set to be at the centre of one of the most intense transfer battles in this summer window. But this could come as a blow for Premier League side’s Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Blue half of Manchester is reportedly leaders in the race for Jorginho, who has scored three times and notched up four assists this term at Napoli. But their local, glorified neighbors Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Italian for the past few months. However, the two Manchester outfits will face stiff competition from European giants after Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos has confirmed the links from ‘several’ clubs.
Santos Warns United and City-
In a recent talk with Radio Kiss Kiss, Santos revealed something that everyone wanted to know, leaving Jorginho’s future uncertain, “I’ll talk with the club because Jorginho has another two years on his contract. But there are also several clubs interested in him, and we have to understand if Napoli wants to move forward with their starters or not.”
This comes as a warning shot for City and United who have shown interest in Jorginho but never really taken the initiative. Hopefully, this will add more competition for the defensive midfielder in the transfer market, which could also see his value rise tremendously. Mourinho wants a replacement for the retiring Michael Carrick while Pep Guardiola wants to reduce the work-load on Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho.
Jorginho has drawn interest from several clubs in Europe and now that’s a blow for United and City because even the player would want to play at a club which wins trophies on a regular level. If Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain or Bayern Munich are keen on signing Jorginho, it will be very difficult for the English clubs to compete in that battle.
