Paris Saint Germain star Neymar Jr may be planning a move to Premier League giants Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils may already be looking for a revamp in their squad with a major signing this transfer window. According to Don Balon, Neymar is reportedly looking for a move away from the French capital. And after a rocky debut season with the Parisians, Neymar has his sights on a shock move to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian is currently recovering from a foot injury and is working to recover in time for the World Cup in Russia. This season, the striker has racked up 29 goals in all competitions for PSG before being sidelined due to injury.
It was less than a year ago that Neymar left Barcelona for the French giants for a world record fee of 222 million euros. At the time, Manchester United was heavily linked with the Brazilian along with Barcelona’s arch rivals Real Madrid. In addition to this, the Galacticos have been interested in the 25-year-old since he was playing for Brazilian side, Santos. However, it has been reported that Zinedine Zidane has given up interest on the PSG star in recent weeks.
With Manchester City having clinched the League title with five games to spare, the Red Devils will look to strengthen their squad for next season. Although Jose Mourinho has discarded rumors regarding the signing of a forward, the uncertainty surrounding Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in the team’s structure may open doors for the Real Madrid target. If one of the forwards decide to leave this summer, it won’t be a surprise to see Mourinho fighting for the Neymar’s signature.
If Manchester United are seriously interested in the Brazilian superstar, they will have to splash an enormous amount of money to sign him. And apart from that, they will have to make the Brazilian the main star of the team as he is regarded in Paris Saint Germain. If the move materializes, it would make a huge impact on not only the Premier League but the football world itself.
But then again, there is a major ‘If’ in that statement. For now, the World Cup in Russia awaits Neymar.
