Alexis Sanchez has a dig at his former club Arsenal

Red Devils superstar Alexis Sanchez has stated that United is a club with ‘more history’ which has made adaptability in his new surroundings tougher than expected

It was probably the deal of the winter transfer window when Arsenal fans realized that their most valued superstar Alexis Sanchez was leaving the Emirates. However, little did the Gunners faithful know that he would be joining the Red side of Manchester until the deal took place. A swap deal between Manchester United outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez meant that the Chilean would join one of Arsenal’s most hated Premier League rivals, in the form of Manchester United.

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Sanchez ever since he made the move to Old Trafford in January as it has taken him some time to get used to life in Manchester. There is no doubt of the South-American’s qualities and traits but a goal-scoring drought put the 29-year-old attacker into the limelight for criticism. But, after scoring a vital equalizing goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-final victory at the weekend, Sanchez claimed that he is still adapting to life at his new club.

Sanchez – “It’s very Different Here”

After being awarded the Man of the Match for his performance against Spurs, the star winger spoke to MUTV in a post-match interview and said, “It is very different here, I think United is a club with more history and we want to win trophies next year.”

Sanchez also added that he is learning to adapt to the new surroundings and is still determined to win trophies with United, “We need to keep progressing. United is a big club, to which I am still adapting, and I am looking forward to giving everything I’ve got next year and aiming to win everything there is to win,” he explained.

United will now face Chelsea in the FA Cup final on 19th May with both the fierce English giants looking to win a trophy by the end of the campaign.

Author’s Take-

Sanchez has been in and out of form with United but is finally settling into Mourinho’s system. There is no denying his skill set and work ethic but it has to be in sync with United’s philosophy which would make a great match.
