Revealed: Zinedine Zidane resigned because of this player

Former World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane resigned as Real Madrid manager, three days after stirring Real to European glory. However, it seems Zizou resigned because of this player.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a man of hot discussion. Since summer, Zizou has been linked to managerial position of many clubs. Manchester United, Bayern Munich and even Real Madrid is wants the Frenchman. After his shock resignation, no one can really predict why he resigned despite having so much success in a little. According to this report, this player might be the reason why the World Cup winner resigned.

According to El Pais (via Mundo Deportivo), Welshman Gareth Bale could be one of the reasons why Zinedine Zidane resigned as Real Madrid boss last summer. Zizou won three successive Champions League titles with the La Liga giants and handed his resignation at the end of the 2017/18 campaign after lifting the Champions League in Kiev against Liverpool.

It was Gareth Bale’s goals that helped Real win it’s third Champions League in three years. Before the Champions League final, in fact, Zidane had informed Florentino Perez that he wanted the former Tottenham star out of the Bernabeu in summer. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez accepted the Frenchman’s request as well.

After Bale’s heroics in the final of the Champions League against Liverpool in Ukraine.  An excited Florentino admitted in the box of the Kiev Olympic Stadium that the Welshman “was better than Cristiano”. He believed Bale marked “the differences” in the big dates. Zidane, however, wanted to sell Bale for € 100 million to sign one player between Salah, Hazard and Harry Kane.

After winning the Champions League in Kiev. Florentino started backing Bale. He assured Bale he would remain at Real Madrid. Zidane was offended by the fact that club changed the decision without informing him.

Author’s take:

Perhaps this might be the reason why Zidane resigned. Considering Zizou’s choice of picking Isco and Asencio ahead of Bale, the decision of not selling Bale could be the real motive. If Perez would have sold Bale and would not have changed the decision then Madrod won’t be in the crisis that they are currently facing now.
