Chelsea star Willian has revealed that former boss Jose Mourinho and Manchester United never made a bid for his services and it was only La Liga champs Barcelona, who had made an attempt to sign him.
The attacker who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge for quite some time now, was unhappy due to the lack of game time that he got under former boss Antonio Conte.
However, with the recent change in management and Sarri taking over, the player decided to remain in west London. He will now play a key role in the west London outfit’s season and can hopefully win more titles with them.
In an interview with ESPN recently, the player stated, “The only club I knew that really made an official offer for me was Barcelona.”
Further, talking about his future now that former boss Conte has left the club, the Brazilian international added, “I have my head here and I intend to continue in the club unless the club wants to sell me. But my head is here in the club.”
Though the team lost the Community Shield to rivals Manchester City, the winger has backed the new Blues’ boss. He said, “[Sarri] is a manager who likes to play football, a manager who has a game philosophy similar to Manchester City. Manchester City have been playing under Guardiola for a few years now and the players are already adapted [to his style] and already know what to do in the pitch.”

“We have just started working with him [Sarri] but in the first days we have seen that he is a manager who likes to shape the game from the back, he likes to play football. It will be very important for us.”
It will be a huge boost for the Londoners that one of their key players over the recent years (apart from last term) has decided to remain at the club now. In the previous campaign, he was not utilized properly and was unhappy with Conte, due to the same reason. However, with the arrival of Sarri, things are quite different and he has a chance to make an impact this term and reclaim his spot in the playing eleven now.
