The Real Madrid star has been heavily linked with a move away to the Serie A but has finally confirmed his future in an interview.
After Cristiano Ronaldo opted to leave Real Madrid for the impressive Juventus and Serie A, the Portuguese giant opened up a massive can of worms for the Los Blancos. After his rather surprising departure, the likes of Luka Modric, Marco Asensio, Marcelo, Keylor Navas and a few others have been linked with moves to Italy as well.
But no move ever materialized with Real Madrid refusing to lose yet another superstar citing that losing Ronaldo would be the biggest mistake/loss they could ever handle. However, while they struggled to sign a replacement, losing out on the likes of Neymar, Eden Hazard, Antoine Griezmann, and Kylian Mbappe, they also managed to keep a hold of their best players.
Left-back Marcelo especially was among the few incessantly linked with a move to Juventus, with rumours indicating that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted his former team-mate in Italy. However, while Juventus does have fellow Brazilian Alex Sandro, Marcelo’s experience in the Champions League and trophy cabinet made him a valuable target.
However, nothing ever happened and the 30-year-old remained at Real Madrid a decade after arriving. Now he has still been linked with a move away, so the Brazilian international has decided to come out and reveal his future, going on to say “It’s an element which is hardly worth discussing. I’m very happy at Real Madrid, it’s my home and I’ve got many years left on my contract” revealed Marcelo.
“I’m very happy here, it’s the best club in the world and I always want to play for the very best. It’s good to talk about it because there are always rumours and it’s tough for me to have to continually show I want to be here and can play here.
Marcelo: "Juventus? I've heard so many silly things, I'm here until the end…. I read and saw a lot of nonsense. I am as busy as Vinicius, who is 18, I'll stay here until the end of my career." pic.twitter.com/wBxI6ycqMQ

I always give it my best to be at the best club in the world. I just keep doing my job. I have to show what I can do every year. I enjoy every moment of playing for Real Madrid and naturally, I give it everything I’ve got. I do all I can to make sure the fans enjoy the football and that Madrid are always at the top, which is where they belong.”
Losing another star, especially someone as valuable as Marcelo would have been a big blow to Real Madrid, but given that the Brazilian is 30 years old, maybe it’s time Real Madrid start searching for a new left-back star. While the Brazilian has been a very valuable assest to Real Madrid since his arrival in 2007, Marcelo isn’t getting any younger and Real Madrid will need to look for a replacement.
