With reports of his career at the Santiago Bernabeu coming to an end, one Real Madrid star has gone on to reveal where he would like to play next.
The Real Madrid star has been a mainstay in the Los Blancos team ever since his arrival and has even been called one of the best-attacking midfielders in the world. However, with Real Madrid struggling for points and defensively this season, the club has decided to revamp their squad bringing in a brand new set of Galacticos next summer.
This also includes a replacement for Croatian star Luka Modric, with the 32-year-old looking to leave the Santiago Bernabeu after a disappointing season in the La Liga. The Los Blancos sit fourth in the league table, a massive 18 points behind Barcelona with less than seven games to go. This has lead to rumors about the former Tottenham star being unhappy with manager Zinedine Zidane’s tactics and even the effort put in by other players in the league.
And with Arsenal, Liverpool and even Manchester United very interested in bringing the former Premier League star back to England, Real Madrid have reportedly made a decision about Modric’s future. According to reports from Diario Gol, the club wants Liverpool star Emre Can, with the Liverpool star’s contract set to expire at the end of the current season.
However, now in an interview, Luka Modric has revealed exactly where he might go once his career as a Bernabeu star ends. The Croatian international is under contract with the Los Blancos until 2022, but rumors and reports have added that he could leave earlier. “You never know what can happen,” Modric said in an interview taped earlier but released recently.
“I still have two more years on my contract with Real Madrid. He was such a big player in Europe the last 10-20 years, one of the best strikers,” Modric further added talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to the MLS. “It’s his decision, I wish him all the best, and hopefully he will enjoy it there. I would like to stay him a bit more in football to watch him, to see his magic like he did in past years and we’ll see, but I wish him all the best in future.”
Luka Modric arrived in the La Liga after struggling to make an impact for Tottenham Hotspur, despite showing signs of brilliance during his time there. But since then, the Croatian has been splendid for Real Madrid, flourishing as a central-midfielder, becoming one of the best in the world by some margin.
