With Real Madrid struggling in the La Lia this season, both manager Zinedine Zidane and president Florentino Perez have decided to usher in a brand new era.
After a 2-1 win over Malaga, thanks to a splendid performance from Isco Alarcon, manager Zinedine Zidane showed the world that there is life after Cristiano Ronaldo, with both the Portuguese star and Gareth Bale rested for the La Liga clash. However, despite that, the Los Blancos have still struggled for both points and defensively this season, conceding the most goals among the top four teams. But they have still somehow managed to flourish in the Champions League and will face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals soon.
That’s exactly why president Florentino Perez is highly insistent on spending big during the summer window to completely revamp his current squad. The Real Madrid president wants to usher in a brand new era of Galacticos and has thus created a massive war chest. That combined with the fact, that a few of the current stars will be sold, will only widen Perez’s eyes as the money rolls in.
But with the Premier League their main target, Real Madrid has shortlisted four superstars of England’s top tier to bring the Santiago Bernabeu next summer. According to reports from the Daily Star and Don Balon, the La Liga giants have targeted Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Manchester United’s David De Gea.
With Real Madrid no longer interested in Neymar or so they say, the club has decided to go after Eden Hazard instead, with the Belgian international irritated with how things are going at Chelsea right now. The Blues, like Real Madrid, have struggled to defend their Premier League crown and with Manchester City winning the title yesterday, they only have Champions League qualification to fight for.
But even in the race for that Chelsea’s chances are bleak at best and thus it could be Hazard’s time to leave Stamford Bridge. Joining him could be Mohamed Salah on the right and Harry Kane as the center forward, with the two combining for a massive 55 goals in just the Premier League this season.
While Salah has just scored his 40 goals in his debut campaign with Liverpool, scoring 30 goals in the Premier League, the first for the Reds since Luis Suarez in his final season, Harry Kane is close behind with 25 goals in his Premier League campaign so far. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s current set of stars who Salah and Kane could be replacing have only combined together to score a meager 24 goals in all competitions.
Real Madrid believes that money could certainly win them the La Liga next season and while there is some air of truth to that statement, the club certainly needs to consider the fact that their potential new signings will need some time to adjust to the La Liga. However, their four candidates are brilliant players in their own way and would only improve at a club as big as Real Madrid, if treated correctly.
