Real Madrid begin negotiations with star forward’s father over transfer

Real Madrid has a massive void to fill in following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. They have been in contact with a number of names and believe this star could be the perfect replacement.

Real Madrid said goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo after nine long years. The club’s all-time top goalscorer left Madrid for Juventus in a 112 million euro deal. Florentino Perez now has a massive void to fill at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer with Ronaldo’s departure. The Portugal captain’s exit means that Real Madrid lost potentially fifty goals per season until a lethal enough replacement is signed.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe is one of the top names on Real Madrid’s wish list. The France international was the World Cup’s best young player and had a fabulous campaign. He got recognition when he starred for AS Monaco in their title winning season of 2017/18. Due to fantastic performances, he was on the radars of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. He was eventually bagged by the French giants. In the process, Kylian Mbappe and his father rejected Real Madrid.

However, he was on Real Madrid’s radar this summer. But despite rumours, Mbappe and Real Madrid officially denied reports about a possible move to Spain’s capital this summer. A few days ago, there has been great buildup on the same matter as per reports. Football daily, Tribal Football has spoken about Real Madrid and Mbappe’s father still keeping contacts over a potential move.

While a transfer this summer is all but ruled out, the Whites are improving relations with PSG and Mbappe Sr. to probate a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. The 19-year-old has publicly spoken about idolizing Cristiano Ronaldo and being Real Madrid’s fan in his young age. Probably, there could be no honour much sweeter than replacing his idol.

Author’s Take

Kylian Mbappe coming to Real Madrid will signal the beginning of a new era. However, with all due respect to the Frenchman, he still needs to prove himself for a season or two to come to the world’s biggest club. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s fresh talent like Asensio and Vinicius can have a chance to mark their authority in Ronaldo’s role.
