Punjab Kings are crossing swords with Kolkata Knight Riders in the 21st match of the ongoing Indian Premier League. The match is being staged at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
KKR captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and invited KL Rahul’s team to bat first. KKR bowlers stuck to their line and lengths to keep PBKS batsmen silent most of the time. As a result, they were able to restrict PBKS to 123/9 in 20 overs.
Mayank Agarwal top-scored with 31 off 34 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes to his name. However, Chris Jordan helped PBKS add value to the scoreboard when all other top batsmen made their way back to the pavilion.
The England international was at his devastating best against KKR bowlers as he scored 30 off just 18 balls. Jordan flexed his muscles at the right time and struck as many as 3 maximums and a boundary at a strike rate of 166.67.
His valuable knock helped Punjab Kings get past the 120-run mark. On the other hand, Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers for the Knight Riders. He accounted for 3 dismissals in his quota of 4 overs and conceded 30 runs.
Sunil Narine was quite economical throughout the game as he conceded only 22 runs in his full quota of 4 overs. He also took 2 wickets to his name. Apart from him, Australia’s lanky pacer took 2 wickets to his name.
Ravi Bishnoi takes a screamer
Punjab Kings’ player Ravi Bishnoi took the cricket world by storm after taking a sensational one-handed catch. Bishnoi timed his dive to perfection as he pulled off a scorcher to get rid of pinch-hitter Sunil Narine.
The incident happened during the last ball of the third over bowled by Arshdeep Singh. Narine tried to hit a big shot but was caught at a deep mid-wicket. Bishnoi dived full length and grabbed a blinder as Narine departed for a duck.
