In a series between subcontinental countries, spinners always play a substantial role. Among the spinners, Sri Lanka player Wanindu Hasaranga looked more matured in the ongoing series than other spinners.

Hasaranga accounted for four dismissals as he cleaned up India’s batting line-up. Team India lacked teeth in the batting unit as they managed to post their third lowest-scoring total in T20Is.

Hasaranga dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Varun Chakravarthy. Dasun Shanaka took 2 wickets to his name whereas Chameera and Ramesh Mendis took a wicket apiece.

As far as Team India is concerned, perhaps, in a very instance, a bowler scored more runs than the batsman. Kuldeep Yadav who doesn’t have much experience with the bat scored 23 off 28 balls.

Indian batsmen literally had no clue against the belligerent Sri Lankan bowling attack. Sri Lankan bowlers looked much sharper when compared to the second T20I match in the same venue.

Chamika Karunaratne and Akila Dananjaya ended up wicketless in the match. However, they ensured not to leak too many runs. Chamika conceded 12 runs in 2 overs while Dananjaya conceded only 11 runs in 4 overs.

Rahul Chahar takes a sensational catch to get rid of Fernando

Rahul Chahar has by far been the standout performer for Team India. The right-arm leg-spinner provided Team India with their first breakthrough as he dismissed Avish Fernando in the fifth ball of the sixth over.

Rahul Chahar spun the delivery ever so well and Avishka Fernando ended up hitting the ball straight towards the bowler. Meanwhile, Chahar completely dived fully towards his left side only to take a catch in his safe pair of hands.
