Pundit reveals why Ronaldo chose Juventus over Man Utd

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has hinted at the main reason as to why he feels Cristiano Ronaldo might be leaving Real Madrid for Juventus instead of former club Manchester United.

Ronaldo shocked the footballing world when he spoke of his time at Real Madrid in the past tense after beating Liverpool and winning a third consecutive Champions League title with the club. There were a number of top clubs in the continent that was eager to secure his services and even former club Manchester United was in the hunt for their former but still-beloved superstar.

However, in a stunning turn of events, Serie A champions Juventus are linked heavily with luring Ronaldo to Turin with the Los Blancos and Ronaldo himself agreeing to terms with the Old Lady. And despite links stating that Ronaldo could be reunited with his former boss and national compatriot Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, football pundit Guillem Balague understands why the 33-year-old prefers a move to Juventus.

Balague Delivers Latest News On Ronaldo-

Speaking to the Express, the 50-year-old hinted that there have been talks with Real Madrid over a move for Ronaldo but none of them came from Manchester United. “The representatives from Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid spoke about the situation. They reached a position where he got an offer from – I almost said Manchester United then – but they are not interested at all, they haven’t been involved.”

Balague continued about negotiations regarding a deal, “He will get £30m a year from Juventus and they are willing to pay £100m and no more than that. Real Madrid hasn’t received that offer yet, but Jorge Mendes has promised it will arrive soon.”

Author’s take-

It’s very strange that Manchester United have not bid for Ronaldo despite the fans and club literally demanding a move for their long lost hero. But knowing Mourinho, he may just hi-jack a move later on in the transfer market to surprise everyone, fingers crossed United fans.
