PSG Starlet hands in a transfer request amid Chelsea links

PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that the striker has asked to leave PSG as he is bound to Chelsea.

For now, Chelsea is facing tough competition to sign their major transfer attacking targets this month. Their pursuit of moves for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Red Bull Leipzig’s Timo Werner is awaited till summers. The PSG striker has been linked to Chelsea for quite a while now.

Tammy’s goal-scoring form did not save the Blues from the unlikely defeat at St. James Park as they lacked the cutting edge. Chelsea has not been able to keep up its good form. Edinson Cavani has been limited to just 14 appearances this season and has expressed his displeasure to continue at PSG. The 32-year old has been a prolific striker throughout his career. With 198 goals, he is the record top scorer for his current side since joining the French Champions since 2013. Cavani will prove to be an upgrade if he can adjust to the pace of English Football.

Cavani has set sights to greener pastures at the January Transfer Window. Sighting a chance, Chelsea Fans has urged their team to take on a pursuit for his signature this winter. With the gaffer in the favor, there is a possibility that Chelsea might sign him in this transfer window. It feels like he wants to add some more firepower to the team.

CHELSEA LOOKS TO BOLSTER WITH CAVANI

The Blues manager, Frank Lampard, did not shy to praise the Uruguayan international. “He’s a great player,” Lampard said. “I played against him and I always loved his mentality and attitude, and obviously his goal-scoring record speaks for itself. I’m not absolutely aware of what the situation is, so we’ll see.”

The Chelsea manager also said, “He’s an experienced player, but so are many other players out there. I think we are young and we know about the transitions. The idea of bringing in experience is something I’m certainly not absolutely looking away from. It is high time for the Chelsea to turn their head towards the Cavani before Atletico Madrid swoops him away. Leonardo has also admitted that the deal with Atletico Madrid did not materialize, opening more offers for Cavani including Chelsea.
