PSG star Marco Verratti has stated that he would like to accommodate great players at the Parc Des Princes, including Manchester United’s Paul Pogba among those who could possibly arrive soon.
PSG recently completed a domestic treble by winning the Ligue 1, Coup De France and the Coupe De La Ligue to end a rather successful campaign. However, Real Madrid knocking out the Parisians in the Champions League Round of 16 came as quite a blow to PSG, who were deemed favorites to win the tournament.
Despite boasting a formidable squad with strength in depth as well, PSG is still looking to improve in order to win the elusive Champions League. With the transfer window nearing, the heavy spenders will surely be at it again, and Marco Verratti has given us a slight insight of what to expect.
Verratti Would Like Great Players Added To The Squad-
The 25-year-old Italian didn’t feature in the Coupe De La Ligue due to a groin injury but still spoke highly of the club. Speaking to La Gazetta dello Sport, Verratti said, “I think it’s normal for all the big players to come to the PSG because here there’s a big project like few in Europe and a really competitive team, and then the city is incredible, To win something important, the club has to decide how to reinforce the squad. Whoever comes to us will always be welcome, but will also have to give their best.”
Verratti then added that specifically about Pogba stating it would be easier to win trophies with a player like him in the squad, “It’s easier to play with great players of his caliber.”, he explained.
It’s no doubt that this is an open invitation for Pogba to join the French champions. Verratti and Pogba would be formidable in midfield as PSG are focusing on purchasing world class superstars. It would be a spectacular move for a player like Pogba to play alongside Neymar and Verratti in France.
